Automation of the warehouse management of Neste Easy Deli self-service stores

Solutions implemented

Task

Neste service stations are set up in such a way that the driver fills and pays for the fuel himself – there are no Neste staff. While all of us can remember Neste stores, a few years ago the business concept changed: Neste stores were closed and the petrol station network moved towards full automation in the customer interface. Automation reached its peak with the arrival of the Neste Easy Deli at the end of 2021.

Neste wanted the warehouse to reflect a similar concept. Warehouse processes had to be controlled “from supplier to counter”, transparent and automated at the same time – so that manual work was reduced to almost zero. After a long process of choosing between international and local ERP solution providers, Neste turned to Solwit for this task. The choice was Solwit’s because we were able to provide a fast solution, 30+ years of experience and a good price.

Solution

The solution was to implement the ERP module Warehouse with several customisations to meet the client’s individual requirements. The project was completed within a month and a half.

We are glad that in the end we chose a local solution rather than a foreign one. Thanks to this knowledge, Solwit acted not so much as a normal supplier, but as a full partner in the project. All the objectives set at the beginning of the project were achieved, including the completion of the entire project in 1.5 months. Now we continue to work with Solwit, further adapting the solution to our needs.

“It is a huge advantage when a supplier is familiar with local legislation and the different nuances of working in the local market.”

Highlights of the project

  • The system can display the minimum quantity of goods for each store, allowing you to plan deliveries from warehouses accurately. Orders for the delivery of goods from the warehouse are created automatically when the balance of goods falls below the specified minimum.
  • Each day, sales data is read from the stores’ POS systems, from which the corresponding write-off documents are automatically created in the software. Coffee raw materials are automatically written off on receipt at the store warehouse.
  • Scanners are used in all warehouse processes, from receipt of goods in the warehouse to their dispatch to the stores, thus significantly reducing the risk of human error and significantly increasing the efficiency of the warehouse.
