How Solwit Solutions Have Been Driving Growth for One of Latvia’s Largest Food Wholesalers for Over 20 Years

Solutions Delivered

Warehouse Accounting

Challenge

In 2002, LEVERSA purchased standard Solwit products, which were gradually customized over time to better fit the specifics of the food wholesale business. This approach continued for nearly 10 years, but as the original system aged, meeting the client’s evolving business needs became increasingly challenging. As a result, we decided to fully modernize the client’s software rather than simply update it.

Solution

The solution involved a complete modernization of both ERP modules (Warehouse and Accounting), with further enhancements tailored to the client’s business specifics. Over the years, the company’s scale has grown significantly, and the client continued to require flexible management of all business processes. The Accounting module was fully modernized in 2014, coinciding with Latvia’s transition from the lats to the euro. The Warehouse module followed later in 2018.

LEVERSA’s business has evolved continuously for more than 20 years in line with market development. In parallel, Solwit products have also evolved based on real client needs. This parallel growth has been the foundation of such a long-term partnership. We would especially like to thank the Solwit team for their deep understanding of LEVERSA’s business processes.

“Trade is a complex business full of nuances that are not always easy to understand, but the Solwit team always takes the time to truly understand the business and find the right solution.”

Key Project Benefits

Detailed employee motivation system

Each role has its own motivation model. Since not all employees are driven by the same performance indicators, we developed a system that supports multiple types of performance calculations. For example, sales staff – quantity of sold goods. Warehouse pickers – number of completed orders, product quantity, weight, and packaging type (full pallets, split pallets, bags, or multiple packages). Quality control staff – number of inspected lines.

Independent order processing and registration

Packers and quality control staff independently register completed orders using scanners. At the time of registration, they can also view a monthly performance overview.

Automated delivery route planning

Each retail store served by LEVERSA is assigned a delivery route. Logistics managers can combine one or multiple routes into trips and select the most suitable vehicle based on volume, total weight, and order type. Each trip can also be assigned to a driver.

Clear visibility of product storage locations

Each product has a defined shelf location and weight. Based on this, picking lists are generated, ensuring that heavier items are collected first, followed by lighter ones. This optimizes the entire picking route.
Invoice processing time was reduced from minutes to seconds. The number of operators was reduced from four to one. Since orders are automatically imported into the system, a single operator now processes approximately 250 orders per day. As a result, 98% of the workflow is automated, with manual operations reduced to a minimum.

Order splitting during import

We developed rules for optimizing order splitting during data import based on criteria such as: product categories (for example, food, household chemicals), line limits (maximum 23 lines per order to ensure a single-page invoice).

Additionally...

  • Automated excise tax and deposit fee calculation.
  • Ability to create linked products and sell items in packages or pallets with different pricing.
  • Order import from E-Aģents, Telema, and Edisoft.
  • Invoice export to Telema, Edisoft, and Mego.
