How Solwit helped Industra, a bank for small and medium-sized enterprises, manage its staff

Task

Industra banka has been working with Solwit for more than 15 years. In 2019, Industra’s management decided to go a step further and improve and facilitate communication within the company, making it less formal, and turned to us for this task. They also hoped to get rid of unnecessary paper red tape: for example, so that leave applications no longer had to be submitted on paper. Of our entire product range, HR-portal was the best at solving these tasks. This tool helps to simplify communication between employees, managers and HR.

Solution

Introduction of the standard product Staff and Self-Service Portal with further customisation to client needs. Prior to that, implementation of the standard product Salary with further customisation to the client’s needs.

Highlights of the project

Possibility to combine several documents and send them to the manager for signature as a single order

This feature significantly reduces the number of documents to be signed and the time waiting for a manager’s signature, e.g. instead of 30 separate documents, a manager only needs to sign one aggregated document.

Recording of days of additional leave

The system automatically allocates and accrues additional leave days – for example, if an employee has not taken sick leave for six months, or for length of service with the company.


The list of training courses has been extended to allow HR managers to add unlimited courses to their staff.

Average earnings for the year for members of the Management Board

The function is necessary because, under the Labour Law, the rules applicable to members of the Management Board for calculating salaries and holidays are different from those applicable to other employees.
Calculation of leave over a 12-month period, calculation of the average income of the members of the Management Board over a period of one year, individual accounts, accounting for different types of document (company contracts, royalties, ordinary contracts).
Due to the bank’s enhanced security standards, the HR Portal only works on the client’s internal network – an employee can only connect to the HR Portal from their office computer or phone on the bank’s internal network. Current company news. Company events calendar.

Applying for and confirming leave online

The staff member can apply for leave and get the manager’s approval directly in his/her office. This feature reduces paper red tape and the time needed to get management approval for applications. Employees have access to detailed information on the company’s organisational structure: current employees, their positions and contact details.
